About the project
"Having attended conventions for several years, I've always wondered why I couldn't find a project (calendar or otherwise) that featured male cosplayers. I looked online, and in my frustration of not being able to one decided to launch one of my own with the support of friends.
This calendar's for the ladies who always wanted to own a calendar that had cosplay dudes, for the men who've wanted a project to inspire them to either get into the hobby or further develop their talents, to the gaming fans who love seeing their favorite characters brought to life. Thank you, and cheers to the hope that the Kickstarter funds and we can make this project a reality with everyone's support and suggestions!"

2017 Calendar theme: 365 DAYS OF COSPLAY
300+ male cosplayers + 1 awesome calendar!
Why is the group called "Men vs cosplay"?
Cosplay is a battlefield! It takes patience, endurance, and a passion for fandom that a lot of people can relate to.
Also, "Men of Cosplay" in a Google search throws up a ton of various sites, including some online shops. Our name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to shows like Man vs Food and Man vs Wild. Why not Men vs Cosplay? (On those shows, despite the titles, both hosts love the food/the wild, no matter how challenging their hobbies are for them.)
Allen (project co-founder) and a few others said it was catchy, so we went with it!
There have been some concerns about our project name. I, by no means, want our project name to be taken as men fighting a lady-dominated hobby. I know a balanced amount of male and female cosplayers, and created the page name as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the shows I mentioned above. We even have a Women vs Cosplay project, and I am a female cosplayer myself.
